The Consumer Guide for Tanning Beds & Tanning Lamps

Canopy Tanning Beds

Canopy-style tanning beds, also called tanning canopies, are essentially the top half of a conventional tanning bed. Designed to be portable, the primary advantage of a tanning canopy is that it can be easily moved or carried from one location to another.

The lamp assembly is mounted on a wheeled platform with an upright post. The canopy portion can be positioned at any angle. You simply lie on your favorite lounge chair and position the canopy over you. The main disadvantage to canopy tanning beds is that you can only tan one side of your body at a time. However, tanning canopies cost less than half that of a conventional tanning bed - the can be purchased for around $750.
